Eventually, the chief devil surrendered, breaking off his horns as a sign of submission. Momotaro collected the stolen treasure, freed the prisoners, and returned home with the devil chief and the recovered loot.
The people hailed Momotaro as a hero, and the elderly couple’s joy was immeasurable. Thanks to the treasure Momotaro brought back, they lived comfortably and happily for the rest of their days.
